Cindy Kohtala, Post-doctoral Researcher
Cindy Kohtala (D.A.) is a design-for-sustainability researcher, educator and writer with expertise in product-service systems and sustainable consumption and production. Her doctoral research topic focused on grassroots digital fabrication communities and their potential role in transforming negative consumption and production patterns through shifts in meaning and values (‘Making Sustainability’: How Fab Labs Address Environmental Issues”, pdf available here).
Her postdoctoral research continues to examine the maker movement as well as collaboration in sustainable design activities. She is co-author and co-editor of Product-Service System Design for Sustainability (Greenleaf, 2014) and Changing Helsinki? (Nemo, 2015).
